ALV Printing Spool Options
Hello all:
I have searched the web and found many threads on ALV, but have yet to find one that answers my question...at least not to my liking!
I'm trying to run an alv output to spool, so that I can convert the spool request and email it. I am SETTING the IS_PRINT TO 'X', which brings up the print parameters page, where I select NOT to print immediately. This creates the spool and all is good.
However, I want to be able to suppress this screen so that I can run this in background. Can I do this through a 'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY' parameter? Like I_print-immediately 'x'?
The print parameters screen is inherent when scheduling a background job.
Is it too much to ask to actually LOOK at the structure of IS_PRINT? Is it? Does your intelligence not stretch that far?
Look at the DOCUMENTATION of the PRINT parameter of structure SLIS_PRINT_ALV
To spoonfeed you a bit more in case it's not completely obvious. SLIS_PRINT_ALV is the type of IS_PRINT.
Go and take up looking at drying paint instead - you might be able ot make a success at that.
I did look at the structure and the documentation. The answer to my question is not in there, check it out yourself.
I realized after I wrote this that it's probably not in there, because it is inherent in the scheduling of a job. That was why I replied to my own post. So, that I didn't waste anyone's time. Your response was not only unwaranted, but completely unhelpful and inaccurate.
Why don't you spend your time helping people with your perceived intelligence, rather than looking for oppurtunities to put someone down.
The ironic thing is your "spoonfed" advice wouldn't have answered my question. If you thought it was a stupid question, you could have skipped it...and shared your paramount wisdom with someone else, but it was probably much easier to look up the data definition....follow it to slis....hit reply....type up your nonsense.....and sit back and steam about how much less intelligent the world is in comparison to yourself. I could go on all day...but I don't want to see my paint dry incorrectly.
If I was allowed to delete my post, I would have. Sorry to waste anyone's time, with this response.

Angry God - calm down and stop attacking other people, or I will delete every post you put up regardless of content.
