I used CATTs to load service masters... only way I could get it to work...

Hi all,
I'm looking to create a service master through a call from an external system. What I've done is created a function module that is remote enabled. That FM is visible from outside the system and the connection works well. The issue is that the FM returns and error code of 'User terminated the transaction'.
The logic inside the FM is to call the transaction AC02 with a BDC table (ie CALL TRANSACTION 'AC02' USING BDCDATA...).
Is this possible, or do I have to find some other way of posting the data from within the function module? Are there BAPIs to create Service Masters? Perhaps an inbound IDoc that can create/update service masters.
Any help would be appreciated.
