almost going with powergen but worried!

Question:
help! im a little confused and worried... we are in the middle of changing from british gas and london electric (or whatever it is now called) to powergen for both...
i followed the advice on this site and went through one of the comparison sites and powergen seemed to save us quite a chunk of money...
but now im nervous because ive heard powergen have just had a price increase (two weeks before we start using them!) and am worried they arent going to be anywhere near as good a price as they were when i looked into it a month ago...
also, can anyone tell me what a reasonably monthly payment for gas and electric in london should be (2 bed terraced house) because powergen have just told me what my monthly payment will apparently be and it doesn't seem that good...
very worried now!
can i still get out of the powergen thing if it turns out they are now not so great?
any help would be wonderful!

What's your annual kwh usage for gas & leccy ?
Sorry I don't know about the cncellation procedures but if you phone your old suppliers I'm sure they will know if it's possible to cancel

Powergen's customer service is atrocious, so it depends how often you experience problems with the supply in your area or with your payments.
I got so sick of them that I moved somewhere which was no cheaper just to be rid of them.

POWERGEN have always been good for me freephone number to phone in on and the call centre is based in the UK so no foreign accents to try and understand. And they are constantly among the cheaper suppliers

They answer pretty quickly too.
To be honest, all the suppliers will be increasing their figures, just give them time. We moved last week and currently in the process of transferring our Powergen account over as the property is currently EDF (who by the way have an 0870 number and took 15 minutes for someone to pick up the phone).
