Question:
Son is getting to the ripe old age of 15 on Friday and I insist it to be celebrated with a day out. He's not being helpful but will go along with what I organise. I asked him to come up with a few suggestions for days out but he has drawn a blank, as in he did nothing. He is willing to have a day out, I don't think he's being arrogant he just says ' Yea, whatever' or 'ok' or 'can't think Mum, we could go swimming' so any suggestions please ?
Preferably a day out, 4-6 hours, can drive, can do picnic, live in Lancs, like to surprise him with excitment. Last year we were on holiday in Turkey and we went off a mountain paracending/gliding. That made him smile when he landed.

How about a trip in a helicopter or glider?
Answers:
Zorbing sounds absolutley awful, but great to watch! I thought of a glider flight but probably out of my price range at present. Maybe for his 18th though. Appreicate the thoughts.

Don't know if you've decided on something already, but if not have a look at . It's a sort of high-level high wire assault course (not as scary as it sounds...quite) in the woods in the Lake District and it's fantastic, as good for adults as for kids, and I think it's about £18 a head, cheaper for under-18s. I went with a bunch of friends (all in early 20s) and it took about 3 hours to get around. I'd highly recommend it (only thing is we went on a weekday and they possibly get really busy at weekends).

Thanks, but no thanks!! I looked at the web site and that made me sweat. (Un) luckily its fully booked for tomorrow, I'll check with him and see what he thinks. I do think its just up his street. OMG

When i was 14 or 15 my parents surprised me with an Earlydrive course.
Was at Brands Hatch, driving with an instructor (obviously) on a disused bit of the race track in an Escort XR3i (ok you know i'm not young anymore).
I don't think age was an issue, just had to be over a certain height.
