Dvd Player region question

Question:
Hi
I have a new player and tried to play a region 1 disc. I just got a message saying it was a wrong region disc. Is there any way I can watch this dvd on this player?
Thanks
Answers:
most dvd players can be unlocked to multi region normaly by the remote control.
either do a search on the net with your make/model. or post it here and maybe someone may be able to help

Some younger relatives bought us a DVD player back in August. As they're well up on new stuff we assumed that the player would be multi-region. However, when we checked the back of it, it said Region 1.
I thought all reasonably new players were multi-region, and although ours is'nt an expensive one, it's not a basic one either. Argos are selling a brand I've heard of, which is multi-region, for £29.99!
Ours is a Pioneer 2750. Could we have misinterpreted what it said on the back?

The method of hacking the Pioneer 2750 to make it multi-region is a little more complex than a 'standard' DVD player. has details.
Before you try anything else though, have you TRIED to play a R2 DVD in your player? :-/

Crikey! Thanks for the link, lincs, but a tech-head I most emphatically am not! Plus I don't have a PDA. Looks like I'll have to kiss the hack thing goodbye.
Errr, I have no problem with R2 DVDs. Of course you meant R1s. ;D
