Question:
About five years ago, there was an Epson (I think) data projector available which could do Powerpoint presentations from some form of data card, perhaps an early USB Flash Drive, without requiring to be driven by a laptop or PC. You just copied the presentation file from a PC to the "card", then inserted the "card" in the projector.
I've only recently returned to an area where the purchase of a data projector is needed, and obviously it is a darn sight easier lugging the projector and a USB flash drive around than that PLUS a laptop!
Does anyone have recent experience of this type of projector? Can anyone give any details of where I should be looking, what make(s) are available, and any "magic words" to put into search engines?
I hope I didn't imagine the whole thing all those years ago...!
Thanks!
John
Answers:
not done any digging to try and find the flash style solution but if you get a phone with an OS (ie smartphone) then you would be able to use that as a store and run point for the ppt files - i know you can get connecting leads for pda's that will plug into projectors (that may be another option) so it should be ok for phones - perhaps even via the standard data cable (usb end into the projector)? i'm sure nokia will have thought of this as part of one of their 'business phone' angles - you could try their site too.
