Question:
This may be "old news" to some but perhaps not for others.
Spybot Search&Destroy v1.4 has some ignored products which I unchecked after updating it. (I would like to include a screenshot at this point but can't).
To check your system to see what S&D is "ignoring" do this.
Open Spybot...
1) Click on Mode and choose Advanced mode and click Yes at the prompt.
2) Click on Settings > Ignore products > All products tab (default)
3) Uncheck all the selected boxes (products).
4) Once done you could change the Mode back to Default mode
I found two instances of CDilla checked for "ignore" and one SideStep. I hear others have also found instances of New.Net being checked as "ignore".
There was a discussion in the main S&D forum on this if you would like to read it .....
It gives some of the "whys" and "wherefores" of Spybot's approach to these.
My own view .... I still have S&D look for - and remove - them even though they are classified by Spybot as PUPs.
What you do is up to you.

At the risk of sounding dumb Whats a PUP ?

To quote from post #2 in the Spybot thread I referred to above ...
"PUPS are potentially unwanted programs. Users choice."

MS Antispyware has also been adjusted to ignore Claria/Gator spyware. This change happened after MS was looking into buying Claria.
Have a check to see if Claria is set to ignore...........
1. Choose "Options" - "Settings".
2. In the left pane, click on the "Spyware Scan" button
3. In the right pane, underneath "Ignored spyware threats", check the ignored threats you wish to remove from the list, and then click the "Remove" button.

Hi Rex
Just one small thing. I think it's not "Tools" but rather this ....
Go to "Options" - "Settings" ... (and so on).
I have nothing "ignored" in my MSAS. At one time MSAS also chose to ignore 180Solutions too. Unlike the rest of humanity who deletes them!
