Question:
Has anyone recently purchased a new Samsung laptop? I am toying with the idea of getting one (although not sure which model) and was wondering if these are quiet machines. Unfortunately, its difficult to test this when looking at machines in the shops (because of too much background noise). I just don't want to fork out several quid on a laptop, only to take it home, and realise that the machine makes a heck of a noise when it's on. (I know that some of the cheap ones do this)

I'm using a samsung m40 which i got 12 months ago. Its very quiet... although not as quiet as my new mac mini (which is so quiet you can't even hear it).
If the temperature of the m40 goes above 60 degrees C, the fan becomes slightly louder, but the machine only gets this hot with graphics intensive games or when the processor is flat out.
When the m40 is unplugged and not really hot, the fan goes off completely making the machine totally silent.
