Question:
I wonder if anyone can help. As you guessed I am trying to install my XDA and I have come across two problems.
I inserted the software disc, however during installation/upgrade of Outlook my PC crashed saying "No Input Signal" can you tell me what this is and what may have caused it.. seems to be happening quite frequently.
Because the system crashed when i rebooted the pc and continued with installation it has skipped the upgrade/installation of outlook. Active sync has been installed fine but need to get the outlook installation done.
How do I get it to go back to the start of installation so that it can complete outlook?
I figured just to take the disk out and start again but the pc is still saying "installing and configuring programs and system components"
Any help/suggestions appreciated

I have managed to install Outlook but now it is saying
"cannot synchronize with the Outlook profile you are using, please open outlook using the appropriate profile"

I've never had to touch my AS (that didn't sound right!) but if you go to control panel and add/remove programs, is there an option to repair your existing installation?
The "no input signal" is almost certainly a graphics issue. If you have a spare monitor, hook it up and see what happens. If it goes OK, it's the old monitor at fault. If not, it'll be your graphics card/chipset. Neither of which is especially good news. Have you recently upgraded your video drivers?

I have not changed monitro recently. I was USING OUTLOOK 2000 but was trying to install this xda thing and it has now disappeared off my computer it said it was upgrading it to outlook 2002 but it has gone

thanks for your help... really appreciate it..
when i put in the software cd for xda Exec it said it needed to upgrade outlook to 2002 version, which was ok at first.
But then i chose a different profile so what happened next was it active sync was not syncing with my calendar on the profile i was already using.

OK. I must warn you I have been to the pub, so count this as a disclaimer for anything that follows...
To deal with your laptop problem - Is it a work laptop? If so, I'd get your techies to have a look, as I suspect something is afoot with your video chip or card (they'll know). If it's your own, did you get a diagnostic disk/program with it? If so, run it and see what it tells you. You could also try looking in Device Manager. Right-click on "My Computer" choose "manage" and click once on "Device Manager" this will give you a list of all devices connected at the time. If there is a yellow circle with an exclamation mark next to any of them, post here or PM me and I'll see what I can do.
Nextly, which profiles do you have a choice between? I ask because some software will only install for the user who is logged on at the time of installation, and some will install by default for all users. A bit more info here would also be useful.

No not a work laptop, you mentioned another monitor so wondered if my laptop would be of any use
Anyway I have managed to get back my outlook but the thing is it keeps asking me to insert the software disk and goodness knows what i have done with it so outlook is now up the creak also. So I can not update my calendar at all until I find the disk... bummer
Contemplating buying another outlook software off Ebay.....

I think it's the profiles that are causing the problem. Are you choosing the profile at startup, or using the XP-home style with all the icons and stuff?
