Question:
I bought my parents the Netgear DG834GT from Amazon when it was on offer. The unit has been running for about 3 days and already seems to be dead.
This morning there weren't any lights etc... have tried unplugging it and plugging it in elsewhere but no luck.
Anyone else had this problem or got an advise? Looks like I'll be sending it back to Amazon for a replacement. I've heard the DG834GT is meant to be quite problematic, just hope this is a one off faulty unit.
Might try and get it swapped actually. The KCorp KLG-575 which Amazon also supply is very good. It's £53. Does anyone know if I'd be able to swap, would there be any difficulties?
Answers:
I know it's obvious but..... have you checked the fuse?
Answers:
Yeah was thinking about that. May check the fuse in the plug, not sure if the unit itself would have one, if it did would opening it not void the warranty?
Answers:
Ah no, the plug is sealed, can't open it.

There is an online petition for those who have experienced problems with this particular equipment to try and get Netgear to admit responsibilty and get it sorted. It's not uncommon for purchasers to exchange the router three times because the product simply dies, plus there is a big problem with a dropping off of speed.
