Question:
Hi there,
Can people tell me of their experiences, when finding the balance between good value and best quality DVD-R's?
And if you feel it worth paying that little bit extra per disc extra for what are supposedly better quality discs?
So is it Bulkpaq or Verbatim??????
Many thanks
Answers:
Go here and take a look.
They offer all types and explain the best value and best quality and their service is second to none.

I have always paid a bit more for Verbatim dvds - I have never had a problem with them. They always burn properly and I have always been able to read them using other dvd drives, which can be a problem with cheaper discs.
Another good brand is Ritek - which are cheaper than Verbatim but still very reliable.
Answers:
Yep, I'd agree. Verbatim have been great for me, they never fail. In the past I've found with cheaper discs I get quite a few fails, and end up no better off than had I bought a branded disc.

never had a problem with datawrite grey disks, burned at x8 ( the x8 disks), quite cheap and no failed burns.
it depends what you will be playing the dvds on i guess. may be best to buy a couple different brands and try them out on your dvd player before buying 400 and then finding out your dvd player doesnt like them.

Depending on the writer you have, my old writer from 2002 is picky on what discs it writes to. However, the new ones (you can get them for around £30 now) are fine with most discs. I buy 10p discs (from Comp fairs) for stuff I probably wont want in a couple of years and 30p-40p discs for stuff I want to keep for a long time.
