anyone use/installed microsoft office 2003 for student & teacher?

Question:
Hi there
just range the technology centre of my work and they suggested I buy the student and teacher version as I work for our local Education & Library Board in Northern Ireland.
I have been looking at various sites were you can purchase the software. just wondered how they check that you meet the criteria?
it states when buying that You must be a 'qualified educational user' to licence this software. (what does it mean to licence software?

We had the education version of Norton's Systemworks. My son got it signed and stamped by his college, don't know if Microsoft work the same way.
I would imagine there would be clarification on the Microsoft site - do you teach at all in your job?
Here is that explains the criteria

We got it on special offer from PC World some months ago (very good value). My wife is a teacher but no proof was requested. It is also ok if someone in your close family is a student (school/uni/college) which isn't too hard to satisfy for many people.

Microsoft Academic Office 2003 Student\Teacher\Parent Edition
£66.96 including post from Ebuyer
- Its about as cheap as it gets. They don't ask for proof of entitlement.
In my view the Student edition is offered as a way of keeping us enslaved to their dreadful Office behemoth.
You can download Open Office from for free.
Its just as good and in some ways better for the average user and increasingy local authorities and businesses are stepping off the Microsoft treadmill and installing Open Office

Melipona - That is just the media ( disk ) for installation. You will have to buy the license separately.
Its for businesses buying multiple licences - they buy the licence for each computer and just a disc to install the programs with.
If its too good to be true then it probably is...
