Can't format DVD-RAMs

Question:
Hi y'all,
I've just bought a super-multi DVD drive to back up my hard drives, and I formatted two DVD-RAMs successfully. I've just tried to format another two DVDs (from the same pack), and after 40mins of waiting I get the rather unhelpful error message 'Windows was unable to complete the format'.
The Microsoft website says something about InCD (Nero software) conflicts, but although I have Nero installed, I haven't used it with the DVD drive.
I've tried both full and quick formatting to no avail. Would anyone happen to know what the problem might be - it's driving me crazy!!!
Thanks ever-so-much in advance!!!

Don't worry - I've just worked out how to do it!
For anyone else with the same problem - you just need to disable the IMAPI service (by going to Services in the Administrative Tools folder in the start menu).
edit: Oh, yeah - I also uninstalled Nero. Don't know if that made a difference...

Noooooooooooo!!!!! Now I can't write to the DVD-RAMs!
Every time I copy I file to the drive, it adds one of the "files waiting to be copied to the drive" (or something), but when I click "write these files" it starts the write-files wizard, but says that the disk is full.
Does anyone know what could be causing this?
