Question:
Hey
I was recently given an Alba 128mb mp3/wma player as a present, but recently when i transfer tracks onto the mp3 and play them, the title displays in like chinese, even tho the language setting is english, i've had the mp3 player for over a month now, can anyone help ??
Answers:
What format are your MP3s tagged in? It might be that you have your MP3s tagged in ID3v2 and the MP3 player only supports ID3v1 - this was a problem with my old mp3 player. It's possible to convert the tags in Winamp, and there's some freeware out there for batch conversion
Answers:
on the box it just says....ID3 tag support, doesnt say whether its version 1 or 2 ??
How can i find out if my tracks are ID3v1 or ID3v2 ?
and...what software would you recommend??
Thanks

i dont think it can be the tagging thing, because about 2 weeks ago i was able 2 just play any type of mp3 then i tried compressing them, and since, the LCD displays in chinese even when i dont compress them anymore

This is a well known problem with these types of players - the same thing happened to me once.
You have to switch the display back to English - it's in one of the options - but of course it's difficult to find since it's in chinese!
I messed around with mine and managed to change it back - if you have the manual - it will tell you just how to get to the language changer.
If you have a friend who reads chinese - even better
