comet seems to beat other online sites at £813.49 for this high spec model...good value for an over rated brand name product...just for its exceptional looks make this sony good value for money!

i wouldnt be too bothered about buying sony unless i wanted the screen. because they have excellent screens on the better models. x black screens i think are the good ones

Does your son specifically need a Sony? Like Backformore said they are good for screens, but they are also pretty expensive.
Other makes are just as good as Sony, if not better and may work out cheaper. Have a look at these brands: Toshiba, IBM, Acer, Evesham, Dell, HP/Compaq.
