Question:
I am looking for a digital freeview box for the least amount of money possible, but wasn't sure where I could find the cheapest. So far is the cheapest I have found, but I was wondering if anyone can beat that?
Answers:
soundds good. dixons also have one for 30 pounds. anyone know the cheapest top up tv compatible one?
Answers:
Aldi are doing one - starting 11/8 for £32.99 that has twin scarts. It isn't on the website yet but it is on the in-store leaflets.

I have the Sagem box and it's a little cracker. Never had any problems with it and it responds much quicker than my old ITV Digital box. Only thing is it's a bit fussy about where it's put - it won't work if I put it on top of the TV or the DVD player. My brother-in-law has the exact same box and his does the same thing. But apart from that it's a good buy.
Re: Top-up TV - I had the original Thomson box (I think it was the DTI 2300) and had no end of problems with Top-up TV. I actually had 3 of them and ended up taking them all back to the shop.

that is a great price, i was going to get a techwood one from currys which were £29.99 but they were out of stock. i need one of these for my bedroom, when the sons wakes up at 6 am cbeebies is just about the only thing that will keep him from jumping all over the bed. mind you i must invest in some new books for him, he is bored of the ones he has.

The Sagem ones need a strong signal. Don't buy if you are not in a strong signal area. My sister bought one and could hardly get any channels - she replaced it with an Echostar model and recieves all channels.
Anyone close to North Notts .. There is a stall on Thoresby sunday market selling Digifusion freeview boxes at £20..
They also have several other brands. I think the Matsui box was £25 ( the good one with 2 scarts).
They had loads last weekend..

I saw one in my local Tesco, (Warndon / Worcester), last week, if that's any good to you?

I bought a cheapo digibox and it was awful, so sent it back and bought a Philips DTR1500 off eBay for £48 inc P&P and it picks up everything with great picture quality. You can also connect up a cheap amplifier (try Richer Sounds) and turn it into an excellent quality digital radio. I would heartily recommend it!
Answers:
I got the 40 quid sagem 602 from richer sounds the other day, as they will let you return a digi box if you can't get a signal, which is handy, as argos won't let you.
however the box keeps giving me small electric shocks, and has now stopped working altogether. ah well. off it goes back to the shop.
it picked up the signal quite well, using an out door arial, that is just stuck in the back garden. i wonder whether another sagem would work the same?
Answers:
See this . Richer Sounds are doing the Sagem box that has been mentioned throughout this thread cheaper than Argos (by 4p - but hey, 4p is 4p!).
More importantly, if emujuice is right, you'll be able to take it back if the signal in your area isn't strong enough.
Think I'll head there tomorrow and pick me one up!

Hi I was wondering if anyone has tried using a freeview box through a tv aerial on a portable tv, as I want one in my bedroom but the outdoor aerial cable is downstairs and I have no idea how I would use that.
Many thanks.
Answers:
Depends how close to the transmitter,I use an old Nokia itvdigital box in one bedroom and a technosonic digibox in the other both on £3.99 indoor aerials from Asda both work fine.
Answers:
After buying four from £79 99 to £39 and taking them back came up with the Asda vary good well pleased with it and you can use some coupons to get it cheap.
