Question:
I need recommendation for a laser fax machine. Certainly not inket or thermal.
It is a standalone machine.
I have had an OKI nec 4100 machine, but its is overdue its drum life expectancy.
An links would be helpful

I bought a Ricoh at the start of this year and I'm pleased with it. But make sure you buy one which has an adequate paper feed for your outgoing faxes: we regularly send 15 page faxes so I went for one with a 20 page feeder, we're now getting a 19 page form to send and sometimes (on a Friday afternoon!) it struggles.
PS it wasn't the cheapest laser fax on the market, but to get a big enough paper feeder we needed to pay a bit more. If you are only ever sending 2 or 3 pages at a time then you won't need that. It also has a biggish paper tray for the incoming faxes which means it never runs out over the weekend: if that's not a priority for you then again you can go for cheaper!

Do you know what model it is.
I certainly need a large paper feeder, but probably a larger paper storage facility, considering the number of unwanted faxes we receive on a daily basis.

I will have a look when I get to work.
Register with the Fax Preference Service and your unwanted faxes will gradually reduce! I now have only one coming regularly out of the blue: the rest of the junk is at least from people I have occasional dealings with! I'll look that link up at work too.

It's a Ricoh 1120L. Think the paper tray for blank paper (ie to print incoming faxes) is 50 pages which isn't huge but plenty for us - I don't need to check it every day!
is the fax preference service.
also allows you to register your business phones if you don't want unsolicited sales calls at work - it didn't used to be possible for limited companies to register but we can now!
If you can get yourself to somewhere like Office World or Staples I found it useful to have a look at some machines: I ruled a few out because the paper trays seemed flimsy and insubstantial!

Many thanks for your help here. I figure if I can stop some of the unsolicited faxes I could get a little longer out of my fax machine. Only joking though.
I 'll look at the spec of your machine.
