I bought an American Freezer from Comet, the sales guy was keen to sell it to me and the insurance which I took, when he said the price for Delivery £49 95 I was suprised and he said the Freezers are very awkward to deliver a two man job and If necessary they have all the right tools to take off the doors etc. I agreed to the delivery charge and he said I would be contacted before they delivered. I was contacted by phone and after giving some details it was decided they would get someone to call out before delivery. I was then called again to say unfortunately a van had broke down and they woulld try for tomorrow ringing me first. I wasn't called and on Monday gor a call from them to say they would be delivering the Freezer in about 20 mins. When they arrived I was given sighs of we will never get it in here and the doors look tight and the drive is too steep (a health and safety issue he said). I suggested they put the freezer back on the van and drive it down the hill to my side drive where it was flat. With this one guy said I will take it round on the trolley, I said be carefull the hill is steeper than my drive. He retorted very nastily I will sue If anything happens to me I said who will you sue? he shouted YOU! I was absolutely gobsmacked!! I said I have paid £50 for you to deliver this and had to go into my house before I got really angry. He managed the hill and took it round on the flat drive up my garden and then complained about the width of the door hence they had to remove the doors once inside he said that will not go through the next one and I said I think your'e wrong Hey Presto through with no problems. The older guy took me to one side and appologised for his colleagues harsh words explaining he gets a little heated. I said ok but the I still fell angry after spending nearly £1000 to be treat this way .Would you complain and if so which channel would I follow

I'd certainly complain, I would get the Comet head Office address and go directly to them.
I recently paid £30 for Comet to deliver a fridge. They left it outside (told my wife it had wheels so would be easy to take in - it didn't and wasn't) and they didn't take the packaging away as they were supposed to. The only reason I didn't bother complaining was that at least they weren't rude. I wouldn't have hesitated if I'd got the mouthfull that you did.
Got a range cooker arriving from Comet auction site next week - be interesting to see what kind of delivery that will be.

I have looked up a little info on Comet and they are owned by Kesa Electricals and have emailed them for Comets CEO name and address.

I would complain STRAIGHT to the top at Comet - get the name and address of the CEO and at the very least demand your delivery cost back. Put your complaint in writing and send it recorded delivery.
There is NO excuse for people to be abusive to customers.
