The bowl itself is only about 25mins walk from MK rail station along a walkway, so you could extend your search to towns on that line (SilverLink)
We used the train to see Oasis recently. Extra services are often put on after the concert finishes

I have stayed at the Quality Hotel and found it adquate. Pay per room and not per person. Not sure how far from the Bowl it is.

If money is no object the nearest one to the bowl is below - it is just across the road. Don't know what the rooms are like but as the place is new and modern I would expect them to be basic, clean and functional. The food in the restaurant is very good for what it is and reasonably priced. Good pub grub from a big chain.
The location is lovely - out of town and on a lake.
