Question:
Looking for a replacement for a broken XBox. All the high street offers are bundles which are of no interest because I already have the games and accessories.
Any ideas where I can get a good price for a 'bare' XBox?
Answers:
Xbox so far have held their price well. Their are at the moment few bargains.Ebay sell some at varying prices plus the gamestation sell second hand ones again not a big drop in price. Argos sell them on their own ( £ 99.99) and my brother used points he had from buying fuel on his nectar card to get one. With the new xbox 360 coming out soon the prices will fall at the end of the year. You could also try The Game if you have any old xbox games you dont want and trade them in to lower the price, again you can buy the consoles individually there.Or the same will apply to the gamestation.
Also some people do sell their old broken consoles on ebay, dont know how much luck they have.

It's worth bearing in mind that the new XBox 360 is due out around November, which is likely to see the current xbox plummet in value.
If you can, I would hold out until then - the new ones will still remain compatibility with most current games, so expect alot of people to upgrade (the new one is vastly improved on the current model).

Ah, if only you'd asked a week ago.
Basically, you buy £100 of vouchers (costing you £95) from here...
...and then just use them to buy the Xbox at Argos, netting yourself another £10 voucher in the process. That offer ended just yesterday though, so you've missed it this time around.
They usually do the same offer around the start of December too (to bring in the Xmas shoppers early), but as people have said, the XBox 360 will be out by then anyway.
However, I think you can still get one (until end of July) at Woolies online if you first go here...
...to get the 10% discount, then basket an Xbox console and it'll cost you £91.49 delivered. There's no point paying more than that on EBay for a 2nd hand one, especially as the delivery cost is normally steep that way.

can buy mine... make me an offer

Thanks for all the posts.
My two XBoxes are the heart of my home entertainment network so waiting until November was not an option.
I was about to go for the Woolies offer but decided to give it one last try with my broken box.
It took almost the whole of yesterday and involved removing the motherboard and using a second XBox but I managed to resurrect it!
I now consider myself an expert on XBox BIOSes, eeproms, hard drives, modchips and drive locking

ToysRus have for £99.99. I know it has games but I'm sure you could ebay them for more than £9.50.

It's worth having a look in Blockbusters. I notcied an X-box and a gamecube in there for £29.99 each (2nd hand).. Dunno if they were boxed/with manual but the units themselves looked in vg condition
