Question:
I'm looking to buy a steam and spray iron. Any advice on ones to look at or ones to avoid?
Don't want anything too fancy and am looking to spend up to around £25.
Thanks in advance.
Answers:
I've had £50 irons and £5 irons and some in between, there isn't a lot of difference between them, current iron cost £5 from Instore and it is steam spray, gets up to a good temp pretty quickly, it's branded Hinari. Asda and Tesco both have irons for a fiver or so if you look on the bottom shelf under the more expensive ones.

I too have had expensive and cheap irons.. my current iron I bought in Tchibo for 12.99..it is so lovely to iron with that I have bought another one and put it in the cupboard for when the current one gives up ( I have LOADS of ironing!) I thoroughly recommend it.

Thanks both. Glad to hear the cheap ones aren't necessarily nasty.

I have a goblin Iron which I LOVE. It can be cordless or corded and was approx £19 from Argos about a year ago. both my sister and I have one and would highly recommend it.

I do quite a bit of ironing and used to work for Comet, it always seems to me that the most important thing is the board itself and decent steam and like the other guys have said sometimes the cheap ones are as good as the expensive ones. There are loads more gimics on the pricey models and when it comes down to it the lessw mineralised the water you put in the longer the iron will last, philips usually have good irons but they always have something a little quirkie about them, I'm using one now I got for half price ages ago from LXDirect on a deal, I tend to get them in sales etc
Good Luck!
