Question:
High there
I have spent the last two weeks looking for a Dyson at argos because they were so cheap (normally i wouldn't have been able to afford one), But i have now resigned myself to defeat (and a monster phone bill ).
Does anyone know where the cheapest place is to get a Dyson or other similar vacuum cleaners?
I would be grateful for any info

I keep replying to similar posts, I recently purchased a sanyo pulse 1600 upright bagless for £89.99 from BEdirect I think it's great ,sucks realy good easy to empty and all round better than my broken old dyson. It is a bit heavey,bu dont know how it compares on that, we live in a bungalow so not a problem.

:my advice is try another make of hoover i wanted one of those for years until i went into a hoover shop in town who had 23 dyson hoover i asked him how much they were and he said they are not for sale they are all broken and have been bought in to be fixed , and he wouldnt sell them he has had more dysons bought in to be fixed than he has sold now he has stopped selling them .

my local Macro does few nice Hoovers but real bargains are in the ex-dispaly (box missing, box damaged) section.
Best to go and try some in store e.g. comet, currys, or ask friends, and then have a look online in one of the shopbots to find the cheapest price.

Miele was one, i cant think of the other. Dyson were let down on reliability. I have the Miele cat and dog now after having the Dyson DC01 and I wouldnt go back to Dyson
Im pretty sure that the other was Sebo

You don't happen to know which of the Miele's they tested?

They tested two i think (I no longer have the report). The cylinder was the cat and dog -I have it and think its the bees knees (especially after years of having a dyson ) but i cant remember what the upright was. I do remember that the cylinders performed the best in all tests though if that helps

I bought a Dyson DC04 absolute yesterday from Curry's for £149.99.
This is the 5th bagless vacuum cleaner i have had in just over a year, all the rest were refunded under warranty (thank you Currys) due to various faults. The last one that I returned yesterday was a Morphy Richards that overeheated so badly that it would only work for about 5 minutes before the safety thingy switched in and turned the motor off until it cooled down.
Before that I had a Sanyo and a hoover, again both bagless.
I was so fed up of these vaccuums being faulty that i decided to pay an extra £60 to buy the Dyson. I got it home and vacuumed carpets that I had only just done before the Morphy Richards had turned off. Within a few minutes I had half a cylinder of powdery stuff and tiny bits of dirt!
The Dyson is a lot lighter that the other vacuums I had and it is easy to manouver. The only thing I'm not sure about yet is the hose system as it stays rigid at one end and I find it difficult to get into nooks and crannies.

Hi, not sure if this helps as not sure if this is a good price or not, but my local Sainsburys (Hull) were selling Dysons for around £130 (I think), apparently £80 off there normal price. Think the model in question was a DC05 cylinder.
May be available at this price nationally?
Sorry didn't pay too much attention to it as wasn't looking for a vacuum, they did also have quite a few other small electricals for around 1/2 price, bread makers, kettles, irons, microwaves, coffee makers, health grills etc.

What about this ... Dyson DC07 £139.99 inc free delivery ... seems like a great deal to me. I think the DC 07 normally sells for around £260.

maybe that's why it is "sold out"
