Hello! Happy Birthday little one When my children were 10 all cash given went into their postoffice account to be saved. I kept this idea from birth to when they were teenagers. 2x DD's spent theirs on part payments for first cars and DS is waiting another year for his 18th to be given his.
I know this is not everyone's idea-I once gave a dear friend £50 on her DD's christening day to start an account- on asking a month later-she had spent the money
If your little one is spending the money, prehaps you could have a day out, to a big local town and have a look around for sales?
Answers:
I would buy clothes on the high street, nothing worse than buying clothes and then sending them back because they don't fit! Woolies, Adams, Next, New Look 915 range (cheap and cheerful fashion)
You could check the price of the Tamagotchi on the internet, Argos and Toys R Us have websites, have some at £12.49 (postage £3.99 though!).

Hmmm - why not go to the high street, choose what you like and then compare prices on t'internet?
Start them MSEarly, that's what I say!!!!!!!
Answers:
Go to google.co.uk, then click "Froogle" enter "Tamagotchi" and it brings back loads of items. You can sort them by price too. It'll most likely find items cheaper than those on the toys'r'us website

From my own memories of when my daughter was 10,She by far preferred the experience of actual shopping and paying for her goods and then physically taking them away from the shop.Proud as punch that she has chosen and paid for stuff herself.."Virtual" shopping on the net even though probably saving money is not for a child who then has to wait for the goods to arrive.

go to
she won't fail to find something nice there!!

half the fun (if you are ten and have money burning a hole in your pocket) is the actual shopping....visiting the shops, looking, comparing, going elsewhere, coming back again, looking again, choosing, changing mind etc etc etc
can get a bit(?) boring for parents but there are worse things in life
