seen the Acer 5101 for just under £450

I gained an Acer As3692 from comet and is pretty awesome! So would definatly recomend it

Make sure it has a free Vista upgrade or better still wait 3 weeks for Windows Vista to launch. Big discounts on non Vista laptops should be available then.

im looking at buying a laptop aswell, but i am waiting until the end of the month when vista comes out. Trust me just hang on for a bit then you will avoid the hassel of drivers not working

I got my laptop from dell for £300 & it's great. I use it for internet, work & databases, but I think you might need a dearer one if you play lots of games.
They always have one at around £350 but the spec & 'free' memory/printer/delivery offer constantly changes. Keep watching them until the price dips below £350 (including vat & delivery) then snap one up. Hope that helps.
