Question:
Hello,
I wonder if someone can help me please. I need to fit an alarm to my car due to ongoing troubles - in the last week I have had the windows smashed and some wires cut to the fuel pump - but I have no idea where to start. I have looked around the net but am a bit out of my depth. I have been told to get a sensor alarm and I'm sure my garage will fit it for me (at a price of course). At the moment I have just a crook lock - which is probably why it's still there and although it is neither expensive or new, it is a lovely runner. Does anyone know of anywhere reasonably cheap that I could find some sort of alarm system?
Many thanks!
Julie
PS Will be moving in the next few months, so hopefully the problem will eventually be eradicated!

Welcome to MSE!
To protect against your car being tampered with, you are going to need something with exterior microwave perimeter protection, something like the Microscan AN404 or AN424 (with battery back up) here
Click on AN400 series.
It will be able to provide a warn away if anyone gets too close to your car, and give a full alarm if they persist. However, these microwave detectors can sometimes be tricky to set up so as not to give false alarms.
Hope this helps.
