Question:
My daughter has been to her school Christmas fayre today and is sooo pleased with her purchase, a Plaster and Paint picture frame. This is to be made using the plaster enclosed in the box BUT there's no instructions
Does anyone own anything similar and does it still have the instructions? The main thing to get right I should imagine is the amount of water added to the powder that makes up the plaster, get this right and the rest should be a doddle
I never buy these things myself, can't stand mess 'n things BUT the poor wee child is desperate to make it this weekend so any help would be appreciated.

Is there a manufaturer's name on the box, do they have a website? Do they sell it in Toysarus or somewhere?
If you don't get the instructions I would suggest making it with the least amount of water you can get it to set with, it has been a while but my two used to have things like this.

Thanks but tried the websites before posting. The powder weighs 370gms, what would you suggest water wise? If you're wrong I can always blame that nasty person on MSE!!!

Hey, my little darlings are 21 and 19 so it's a long time since I got involved with making this kind of thing, to be honest they used to take stuff like this to grandma's 9 times out of 10 LOL I ma not very arty/crafty.
I am sure someone will be along with the answer soon

As far as I can determine, it's 2 parts powder to 1 part water - i.e. 2 cups of the powder and 1 cup of water. I'd start with that and if too thich you could add a *little* extra water and stiring till the lumps are gone.
As to the rest - I remember having to be very patient when drying it out (but that may have been because I was trying to do a statue of Peter Rabbit) - I suggest the airing cupboard/hot press.
I love the way all the sites just say "make up according to the instructions on the packet" - not much use in this case...
