I had a Bosch washer about 6 years ago. Worst machine I ever had. Slow, prone to breakdown and left a powder residue on clothes. The repair who came out (he was agent for Bosch, Hotpoint, Hoover etc) said that Bosch washing machines were poorly made unlike their other appliances. He said Hoover used to be the best but they were too now producing lower quality machines. His tip was to buy cheap as possible as most machines now only last about 3 years without developing faults.

sorry no discount voucher but can highly recommend Bosch washers. I have had mine for 18months and not one problem, had a Hoover before that and it was a nightmare. Bosch is always a best buy in the Which mags.

I too have a Bosch and cant sing its praises highly enough.
My previous washer lasted for 10 years or so, so it was a long time since I had had to buy one. Well, they had come on in leaps and bounds!! I couldnt believe how big the drum is-you get so much stuff in it!
I bought mine from John Lewis, who have their undersale guarantee. Look at Hi-Speks website, (sorry, dont have the link) as they are often very cheap, and then just get John Lewis to price match it.
Or there is always good old Costco. They have their Passport offers staring this week-when I get a minute I will check if they have any offers coming up and let you know.

We are looking for a new washer as our Hoover appears to be on its last legs (it doesn't complete some of the cycles unless the control is manually moved around). I don't suppose we can complain as we've had it for 20 years. In that time my brother and his wife have got through 4 (or is it 5?) machines.

Sorry never had a whirlpool. I like you had a Hoover that lasted forever, followed by a Bosch (dreadful) and I now have a Zanussi. The features on the Zanussi are great i.e. you can pause to open the door if you've forgotton to put something in, lots of choice of washs and you can set a 14 hour delay for start. Bad point is the quickest wash at 40 degrees with a 1200 spin is 52 minutes. Normal wash at this temperate is 206 minutes (the display shows the wash time). My Hoover had a 30 min quick wash and that was 20 years ago, it was also hot and cold fill. Bosch and Zanussi both cold fill only which makes them slower.

I know nothing about this machine at all, but all I would add is that if you buy it from Costco, their after-sales service seems exemplerary (if that is how you spell it!)/ Seems to me that after a few years, peolpe take their stuff back, say it is broken, get all their money back then buy a cheaper one.
It always seems strange to me how many lawnmowers from Costco seem to break down just at then end of Summer, and how many huge LCD/Plasma screen TVs broke down just after the World Cup had finished!)

Thx Bosch machines are great in my experience. Search on Kelkoo, Pricerunner and uk.shopping.com and you'll find the best price without needing a voucher.

I have just stumbled upon this site:
whilst looking for a code for vue cinemas, and noticed they have various Currys codes including 10% off washers.
Good luck! Now, back to looking for a code for Vue Cinemas!

Right then, after lots of deliberation, we decided to go for a washer dryer, and as we couldn't find a cheap BOSCH, we decided to take most peoples advice, and go for the cheapest, "as you'll need to replace it in a couple of years anyway"....So.......
Currys are doing the Servis M9503W Washer Dryer, for £269, which seemed like good value to start with. I also paid £4.99 to scrap my old one, think I can install it myself rather than pay £18.
Ths discounts I found were:
Quidco for 2%
10% of washer dryers at Currys - £26.90 off
Currys Free Delivery code - £16.95 off
£20 off code as well.
So the total, delivered, and getting my old one taken away is £227.09.
Thanks to everyone for their help!

I know you have probably already bought the WD but for what it is worth I would advise against a washer dryer (in mine and my sister-in-laws experience anyway). Clothes take ages to dry, in the end never bothered used the drying option on mine and there is more that can go wrong with them.
My sensor dryer is the biz!
