Question:
Now that this site has got me buying up a whole year's birthday presents in advance I will be able to avoid the last minute rush to the shops when my son reminds me of yet another birthday party he is due to attend. At least I will be able to when I get the cards sorted as well.
Looking for somewhere that supplies decent birthday cards for kids at a reasonable price. The Works were doing 4 cards for £1 (usually 3 for £1) just after Christmas but they were really for grown-ups.
Thanks in advance.

We talked about this last year but it may not come up on a search. It is partly a case of keeping your beady eye open and snapping up any good bargains you spot. But also one thing my sis does which my kids appreciate is to give them a £1 Smiths token instead of a card but as well as a present. As she says, you often have to spend £1 to get a card - or more! - so you might as well get some use from it. Mine are teens now so may be less appreciated by younger kids.
My problem is I see bargain cards and the kids turn their noses up at them. Eldest has fortunately got the hang of going to buy his own with his own money!

Great idea re token Sue, although you're right that it probably would be appreciated less by younger kids. They want a picture of Bob the Builder or Action Man etc. Will do a search now and see if I can find last year's thread.

Tescos do a pack of 10 cards for about £2

Thanks How_Much - will take a look in Tesco.
Actually got a box of 20 mixed occasion cards in Woolies today marked down from £20 to £10 to £5. None suitable for children but plenty for adults - mainly birthday but also a few new baby, get well, congratulations etc.

Actually, the original price was £30! And, having opened the pack, they come in a sturdy attractive filing box which separates them into various categories - birthday, congrats etc - so I can keep the box and add to it as and when I use cards up/find others. Also contains a calendar/month by month birthday planner so you can write down the date of everyone's birthday and never miss one again. In theory.
