I wanna find nice moisturiser without crazy price

Question:
I need to buy a new face moisturiser and was wondering if anybody had any recommendations.
In the old debt-increasing days I used to do daft things like spend £30 ish (sometimes more ) on a face cream but now I'm looking to spend around £10-15. I don't mind spending a bit as it lasts many months.
I think that of all the fancy chemical anti ageing/wrinkle things that are out there, the only thing that really does anything is sun-protection, so I'm looking for one with an SPF factor. (Also I like lotion rather than cream, as cream tends to go a bit greasy when I put it on)
Also wondered if there are any websites where you can get things cheaper. I'm also going on a trip soon and could maybe get something on duty free (although they only ever seem to have a few of the same old brands)?

You are probably going to laugh but I have found Tesco's budget daily moisteriser and the night cream to be very good indeed.

Does the daily one have an SPF??

The Observer woman magazine reviewed moisturisers the other month. The Olay one and M&S one seem to be good value
Day moisturiser with SPF
Kiehl's
Ultra Facial Moisturiser SPF15
75ml, £14, Harrods
Very runny. Little goes a long way. Probably not rich enough for a dry skin type, but feels good on the skin, and has no scent.
4 stars
Marks & Spencer
Advanced Formula Cell Renewal Moisturiser SPF 15
50ml, £10, Marks & Spencer
Comforting mumsy smell, good consistency (not too rich, not too fluid).
4 stars
Olay
Complete Care Daily UV Cream SPF 15
50ml, £6.49, Boots
Light, not over-scented. Pleasant.
4 stars
Lancôme
Aqua Fusion SPF15
50ml, £27, major stores
Felt like I was rubbing silicone on my face. My skin had a strange synthetic texture.

I swear by Body Shop vitamin E cream. It's pink in a tub and if my memory serves me it contains SPF. It is not very expensive and is by far the best i've ever used. I too suffer oily skin so always used to wear lotion, but this absorbs lovely and leaves no residue. It has an illuminator or something in it so it also leaves your skin glowing and healthy looking. Best of all it lasts for ages.

Lidl's Q-10 day and night creams are really good and only about £2 per pot.

I agree with the Body Shop vitamin E recommendation. The pot I have has lasted me about six months, and although it's a cream not a lotion, it isn't too heavy.

I think I might try out the body shop one - they usually have one at the airports so maybe I'll get a few pence off.
I'm currently using the Olay complete care one and it has a really bitter taste... not that I'm eating it mind! But if you get some on your lips it's quite horrible!

Agree with gatita - Tesco's own is good for me. Does contain SPF but doesn't give a figure. Anyone know who makes it?

There are two kinds. One for over 20 yr old skin and one for over 40 yr old skin. I have the younger one and I bought my Mum the older one, we're bothe really pleased with it. It goes on lovely and really does make your skin feel lovely afterwards.

I have read that SPF in moisturisors is not enough to protect your skin in the sun. You would have to lather it on and leave it visible (white layer) to actually do anything. Be careful of treating your moisturisor as a sun screen if it has SPF - it is not!

for the last months I've been using Allergenics cream as a moisturiser. I get it for a good price at Boots, it lasts me ages and takes good care of my skin. Having a mixed type skin with tendency to acne and very sensitive, I've tried a lot of different products for my face, and I must say this is one of the best I've ever used.
I also use honey for a facial from time to time. It's inexpensive and a very good moisturiser, and if you also want a really good scrub just mix some honey with some sugar and there you are!

You want to spend money on something whose effect can never be proven? Keep spending, you like the gorgeous scents of the expensive lotions, and the makers love your gullibility.
If you want to maintain a soft skin, supple and clear, you will use either Nivea or Olay. They've been around forever, and you will not, I am totally positive, gain anything at all from spending on much lovelier smelling potions.
The very best is Vaseline, but you have to be sleeping alone to use that! Your skin will look marvellous[Uin the morning, flawless.
Unless you have some affliction that prevents it working.

The best one is ASTRAL but finding it is another matter, not many shops seem to sell it these days, but it's not very expensive and makes your face feel lovely and smooth.

also meant to say that inBoots if you speak to the No 7 rep she will usually give you a sample so you can try before you buy

Be careful of treating your moisturisor as a sun screen if it has SPF - it is not! This is interesting as the reason I want a cream with an SPF is that I spend a fair bit of time outside (lots of walking). If I go on a day long hike and it's summer and sunny I will slap on a very high factor sun cream on all parts, but at other times I just think that I've got the SPF moisturiser on so I'm ok.
I have the kind of skin that burns quite easily, then goes a little bit brown and in summer have a freckled face. I've noticed that since the walking I've got some freckles all year round and I keep getting the odd comment (you look healthy, have you been on holiday)........so maybe I do need something a bit stronger!
