Cheapest chrome kitchen/bread bins (Merged Threads)

Question:
Good lord- £50 for a bin!? now that really is *throwing money away*
No chance Im paying that, I have a budget of no more than 20 quid
Any ideas? I dont want a named one lol, like brabantia or whatever partcularly, i dont care its only a bin after all, but i dont want another palstic or enamel one, so this is the way im going...
Surely theres some cheapie options out there? Surely people dont really pay 50-odd quid for a bin- do they?

Its difficult to get the bin bag out of. Also, when you put your foot on the pedal, it slides backwards across the floor. You have to keep it against a wall to stop it moving, as the grip isn't that good.

Yeah asda is doing them went to look the other day except they were all pretty heavily dented....
that argos one looks good though, cheers for that.. unless theres anything cheaper... I dont really need the mini one, that seems a bit consumption for the sake, although I could freecycle it or ebay it I guess.

I bought a nice bin from Home Bargains (quality Save) it was either £20 or £25 ?
Large size with a dome shape top (you can see it on their website halfpriceorless.co.uk) (t.j.morris)- if you click on the home items there is a picture of it, it looks quite small in the picture but it is a large bin - not a pedal bin - its a bit awkward getting the bin bag out when full though, but other than that I am very pleased !
T.J.Hughes have a Brabantia bin on their website for £20 but it doesnt say what size it is - whoops just figured it out 12Litre-£20, 20L-£34, 30L £42

Try Woolies. I got mine from there for £24.99 but that was nearly a year ago. Even £24.99 seems a lot for a bin to me but it is a good size. Also have a look at Wilkinsons.

Your budget is £20, so start saving. There is a big fat reason for Brabantia, (Robert Dyas seems to do the best price, certainly on the bags.) They hold up, look nice and don't have to be emptied every five minutes. The lid is pop it, not the darn foot pedal, I guarantee once you have had one you won't look back. Yup, it's rather a lot in one go for a trash bin. Don't be suckered in to anything except the 50 litre one. The rest, same old problem, you spend half your life taking it out to the bin. The 50 litre. Bliss. -- Unless you have an unusually hot kitchen in which case anything will smell. Remember, you get what you pay for. El Cheapo will initially cost less. It will look it, act it, and be gone in a heart beat. For something that is No Fun to buy (where is the fun in a rubbish bin??) buy it once. Just once. Not every few years. Just once.

I really hate the idea of a bin that isn't a pedal bin. The Brabantia pop up doesn't appeal to me, as I often have handfuls of rubbish to put in the bin, and I don't like the idea of my dirty hands having to touch the bin everytime I put something in. Its means theres a lot more cleaning and tidying of the outside of the bin to be done.
Now this is one bin that I would love to have. If only I had the money (actually, if I ever do have the money and waste that much of it on a bloody kitchen bin, then shoot me)

I bought one from poundstretchers (can't remember new name of the store!). It cost £18.00 and you got a free small one inside. I bought it a few weeks ago and it dints really easy. I am now going to have to buy another as it makes my new kitchen look tatty. I am sure the named ones are sturdier. IMHO

anyway, back to business, all Brabantia bins are 25% off in debenhams at the mo
