Question:
Hiya everyone...Im looking for some advice please...our hoover has gone to the big suction free zone in the sky and we are considering buying a DC14 Animal Dyson, as we have a white kitten and a toffee coloured rabbit...both of whom love to give our carpets "free" mohair rugs! haha!
What is the best way to buy one of these hoovers..ie to get points or cashback? Still pretty new to this cashback thingy!

I got the cylinder version last year and they are really good.
Dyson are also fantastic if you have any problems - I needed a new hose and they sent it straight away without any quibbles (it is still under guarantee).
I dont know if this helps but last year Argos had a really good sale on these models and I think I got £50 off mine in the summer sale before it went back up to full price - maybe someone on the Argos board will know if it is going in the sale or not?

I borrowed this from a friend while mine was being repaired - its amazing. Ive got a brown carpet in the living room and from the first time I used it it looked cleaner and smelt different (better!). We've got a big long haired dog and im now trying to save up for one of my own

I've got the DC14 Animal - love it! Great for clearing up after my 2 dogs. I got it last year from Dixons on-line. After an exhaustive search, they offered the best interest free option. I did a "buy it now, pay 9 months later".

I've got one and had it for about 5 years now. Had one problem while it was under it's 2 year guarentee and Dyson sent me a replacement part the next day. I had it serviced recently too as it was cheaper than replacing it and it's like new again!

I bought an Electrolux "Pet Lover" (1600W) upright vac from T J Hughes a couple of weeks ago for £59 (rrp £99). I have a white/black cat that leaves its hairs everywhere, and this vac does the job so well, the carpet pile stands to attention. My sister has also bought the same model this week, on my recommendation, and she agrees with me how efficient (not to mention genuinely lightweight) this vac is.

I've been looking at getting a DC14 Animal or Allergy and was wondering whether you've tried them out and, if so, how they compare to your Electrolux?

Thanks to every one for their comments...the reason we went for a dyson is, we have a morphy richards and an electrolux and to be honest none of them actually lifted all the rabbit and cat fur...somethings in life are deffo worth paying extra for.
The hoover arrived this morning and the difference is amazing...but best of all its really easy to empty! I have allergies so this was the best way forward for us!

As I mentioned above, I've been looking at getting a DC14 as well - either the Animal or the Allergy model. As far as I can tell the only difference between the two is that the Animal comes with the mini turbine head attachment. Is there any other difference and if not, is this attachment worth the extra money?
We only have one cat and he only sits on one particular chair so I'm thinking that the mini turbine head would only be useful for cleaning that chair and hence may not be worth the extra given that there is presumably another attachment that will do a good enough job. Thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Hi Benls...we thought long and hard about it to be honest..we got an electrolux a while ago, and a morphy richards 2 years ago as a wedding pressie..but hubby was dememented cleaning out the fiddly filter thingies.
The main thing about the dyson is no suction is lost, and they are really easy to use and empty. We were using ours within 5 minutes of unpacking it.
Other hoovers may be cheaper at the start, but by the time you buy replacement bags n other bits n bobs I dont think its worth it.
The mini turbine head is superb...we used it to clean our cats scratching post etc n they look brand new now.
