I'm looking for a table and six chairs for the garden, either metal or wooden. Like all good money savers I want good quality but cheap!! Been looking around but can't seem to find any good deals. If anyone could help I'd be grateful. Cheers!

try ebay. Put your postcode in the search option location box on the left and limit the location search to say within 25 miles. That way if you see a set you like, you can arrange to collect and avoid courier charges

Have I found a bargain for you!!!
Last year I bought a patio set from Focus, it cost £99. Yesterday I received a LX Direct mini catalogue through the post. On the back it had what looked to be the same set for £39.99 (grrrrr, lol) But not only is this a bargain, the brochure came with a £10 off voucher (seemed to be no minimum spend) and FREE delivery making it only £29.99. It's 6 piece set, steel and polyester seat, contemporary looking, tilting parasol. The brochure says steel and white but mine is actually more a cream colour. It's great as it doesn't need treating like wood and the chairs also fold away.
They also do a wooden set, similar style for £79.99, so with delivery and voucher would be only £69.99.
I haven't checked but details should be on their website I would imagine.

You can buy very cheap teak dining room tables second hand. These should work well outside. I've seen them given away Check Furniture ads in your local paper.

Thanks one and all for your info on the table and chairs, looked into every one of your suggestions, I am pleased to announce I am the proud new owner of a hardwood table and 6 chairs! Never thought of ebay, (not like me!) but saw a set I liked, starting price £170, I shopped around to see where they could have bought it, (don't like the thought of people making money from me), I found the exact one in Focus, half price!! Reduced from £249.99 to £124.99!! Very pleased! Thanks again everyone!
