Regenerate queries after support packs? in 3.x??
I am currently wrestling with a problem that has got SAP foxed so far.
We applied a bunch of support packs (BW -17, basis - 54, ABAP- 39?) to our system, and from 2 days after that BEx isn't doing what it's supposed to. It is not showing the updated results, but only shows the situation as of the 2 days ago. R/3, PSA and InfoProvider values match to the T, but BEx is not showing the updated values.
I investigated it for a cache problem, it was not. SAP suggested to regenerate the queries from RSRT, did that on my front-end, seemed to work that day, next day reverted to the old status.
Today, again regenrated them, then set the tab in the workbook properties to 'Go back to the global definition' seemed to work. Keeping my fingers (and toes ) crossed that I don't have to regenrate the queries again on Monday.
There are, as you can imagine, 100s of workbooks. Is there a way to globally set this parameters to default to this value?
I never had this problem in 2.0B from SP1 through SP29, and plugins upto 2002.1, not to speak of several front-end patches.
Any inputs from the gurus is highly appreciated, while SAP is mulling over this issue. Keep it to yourself, but the SAP 2nd-level help feels it could be a development problem. That would then tear it.
While searching the forum for 'Regenerate queries' I came across an interesting topic about choice of DataWarehousing solutions, and had half a mind to pitch in, but then that was at least a month or so old.
Hey Ch - I am not so good at search after all

hmm... that must suck! haven't experienced something like that yet (and hopefully never will)
about that setting... I'm not sure whether you can pull it off to maintain it for all workbooks at the same time, it would be an interesting option though
Got 'Solution from SAP' to my problem. Can you believe it? He says make the cache inactive, in RSRT for all the queries! That means, effectively, thr global cache facility that 3.x boasts of is rendered void.
